The crew behind McLaren Vale’s Pizzateca have flagged an expansion interstate as they launch their latest One Sneaky Cheetah pizza bar.
Co-owners Tony Mitolo, Tim Anderson and Mark McInerney threw open the doors on their new site in Modbury North last week, a fifth auburban venue following stores in Ridleyton, Melrose Park, Stepney and Campbelltown.
The trio say they’re eyeing a new site on the coast by the middle of the year, and may even take their delicious pizzas outside of South Australia.
“We believe in our product. Everything from the toppings when we use top quality ingredients, to house made sauce and house made salami,” said Mr Mitolo.
“We want to spread the paw print a little further out from the greater region. We are trying to share what we do with more people.
“We might even look at an interstate venture but we need to crawl before we walk, walk before we run. That’s aspirational but there’s plenty more to do in Adelaide first.”
Their new Modbury North pizza bar, on Montague Road, has a “nostalgic parlour vibe”, and serves up their popular combination of Neapolitan-style pizzas – wood-fired and hand-stretched – with traditional Aussie toppings.
“We dance in our own space and stick to our own dance floor,” Mr Mitolo said.
“What we have developed is such a great alternative to traditional suburban pizza bars. We have achieved something very special.”
The Modbury North location features a combination of booth and bar seating, with approval to build an outdoor deck by the end of February.
