A Comanchero bikie has come clean on threatening a terrified woman with a weapon, with three other charges being dropped as a result.
Shaun Barry White, 37, pleaded guilty in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday to one count of affray, which was aggravated by the use of a weapon.
The court heard White took part in an affray on November 15 by threatening unlawful violence towards another, causing them to fear for their personal safety.
Peter Hill, for White, told the court his client’s other charges would be dismissed as a result of his guilty plea.
These charges including possessing a firearm without a licence, contravening a firearm prohibition order and refusing to answer a question by a police officer.
During a bail application earlier this year, the court heard White got out of a van and approached a parked car outside a Christie Downs property.
The Christies Beach man reached inside the van, removed what prosecutors previously alleged to be a firearm, and concealed it in the back of his shorts before pointing the weapon at passengers, the court heard.
“Two vehicles approach the address and the defendant is one of the males who exits the vehicle,” prosecutor Sophie Wilson said.
“The defendant approaches a white Holden sedan that was parked on the lawn. CCTV shows a female in the front passenger seat, a male in the driver’s seat and a juvenile – approximately eight-to-ten-years-old – in the back seat.
“The defendant is captured levelling it (the weapon) at the female. The defendant then shouted ‘get the f**k out’ three times. The juvenile moved over to the driver’s side of the back seat then got out of the car and ran off – they can be heard crying and in distress.
“The male in the driver’s seat exited the (car) to help the juvenile. The defendant then walks around to the rear of the sedan and gestures for the man to get back in while still brandishing (the weapon). He then appears to realise there is a child present and appears to apologise and tells the child to get back in the car.”
White was arrested after a police investigation into a number of other Comanchero members involved in the alleged affray.
On Thursday, Mr Hill asked Chief Magistrate Judge Mary-Louise Hribal to order a home detention sentence report for White.
“He spent two weeks in custody on this matter,” he said.
The case was adjourned until next month for sentencing submissions.
