Car flees after serious hit-and-run that left man in hospital at Murray Bridge

Police are investigating after a serious hit-and-run left a 45-year-old man in hospital with serious injuries.

Police are investigating a serious hit-and-run crash in the state’s southeast that left a man in hospital.

At around 7pm on Sunday police were called to the intersection of Old Princes Highway and Hein Rd at Murray Bridge after reports a silver car had collided with a motorbike and then fled the scene.

When police arrived they found the rider of the motorbike, a 45-year-old man with serious injuries.

He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment and his injuries have now been deemed non-life-threatening.

The intersection was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators helped local patrols but has since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing and police ask anyone with information that may assist to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
