Beloved home decor and design store will be moving up to North Adelaide

Adelaide home design and decor store One Rundle Trading Co is closing its flagship store but planning a new chapter.

Popular Adelaide design and interior furnishings company, One Rundle Trading Co, is changing postcodes to North Adelaide.

The company will be closing doors of their flagship premises at the iconic 1920s picture theatre in Dulwich after more than two decades, and moving up north.

Known for their uniquely-designed furniture, fashion and homewares, their products cater for parties, weddings, events as well as brightening up home spaces.

The sisters behind the beloved store, Amanda Swale, 56, and Josephine Marshall, 57, have been running the company for over 25 years, but insist the move is not a sad farewell.

“We’ve had 23 absolutely fabulous years in Dulwich,” Ms Swale said.

“It’s been wonderful and very kind to us. Love the area, but we feel it’s time for a new start.

“So we’re happy, sad to be leaving, but happy for a new adventure.”

Their next chapter will be in North Adelaide.

The North Adelaide store will not be bringing the furniture, however, with a strong focus on curated fashion, florals and home decor.

“It’s going to be the best, it’s basically a curated selection of the best of the best,” Ms Swale said.

The store will showcase a curated arrays of fashion, fresh florals, antiques and exquisite gifts and pieces for the home.

The company announced the farewell to their Dulwich store on Facebook last week, with a 50 per cent off offer on all their in-store items.

One Rundle Trading Co’s final trading day will be this weekend with their new base on 159 Melbourne St opening next Thursday.

“It's a bit bittersweet, but yes, it’s all a lot of fun,” said Ms Swale.

“The customers are actually really, really excited, and I think it’s really exciting that it’s going to have a new incarnation.”
