Just when you thought Camilla at Burnside Village couldn’t possibly get posher … it’s about to become even more luxurious.

The Australian print house, founded by “kaftan queen” Camilla Franks in 2004, first opened a swish store in the up-market shopping centre in 2015.

Adelaide’s Jules Sebastian, who is the wife of singer Guy Sebastian, was there to cut the ribbon.

A decade on, Camilla is preparing to move into Burnside Village’s soon-to-be unveiled extension.

Designed to “transport customers into the world of Camilla”, the boutique, opening on May 29, will have a “sit-in train carriage” with digital windows displaying Franks’ “personal travelogues”.

“My dream for the store was to create something unexpected and unique, that would awaken a sense of wonder in people … I wanted the new boutiques to be the story of my brand, so that visitors could experience my love for travel, exploration and storytelling through the magic of print, in living colour,” Franks says, adding: “I work with the most amazing artisans in Australia and India, so I knew that the only way for me to create the boutique of my dreams was to call on the incredible talents of my own Camilla collective and create it all in-house.”

Camilla is among a number of Australian fashion brands moving into the extension. Others include Aje and Seafolly.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome the new Camilla boutique to Burnside Village. Their unmistakeable aesthetic, vibrant energy, and distinctive artistic expression aligns seamlessly with our commitment to offering a diverse and inspiring collection of brands,” says Gregg Downer, the CEO of Cohen Group, which owns Burnside Village.
