Two men have denied allegations they were trafficking drugs after police allegedly located a large haul of illicit drugs inside their southern suburbs home.
Jordan Michael John Athey, 34, and Christopher Scott Rosie, 33, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday charged over a bust that allegedly uncovered methamphetamine, cocaine, GHB, cannabis and magic mushrooms at their Morphett Vale property.
The pair both pleaded not guilty to one count each of drug trafficking, while Mr Athey – who appeared via video link from the Adelaide Remand Centre – also pleaded not guilty to a further money laundering charge.
“I can indicate that a case to answer can be conceded and pleas of not guilty have been entered,” defence counsel for Mr Athey said.
Both men were arrested in July last year after officers allegedly located stolen identification documents, mobile phones and more than $14,000 in cash.
Following their joint appearance on Thursday, Mr Athey also pleaded not guilty to two separate charges of drug trafficking and knowingly engage in money laundering.
Magistrate Brian Nitschke remanded Mr Rosie on continuing bail – and remanded Mr Athey in custody – to both appear in the District Court in October where they will await trial.
