An alleged drug dealer took photos of himself counting wads of cash the day before a police raid found a stolen Mercedes Benz in a shipping container, a court has heard.

A man whose phone allegedly contained images of him counting about $200,000 in cash linked to alleged drug dealing has been refused bail for a second time.

On Tuesday, Nikolas Filippo Cammarano, 32, and Stacey Greenwood, 33, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court seeking bail as police requested more time for the proceedings.

SAPOL said they needed four weeks for the Director of Public Prosecution to consider the evidence – which police prosecution called “overwhelming”.

“I’m told there is overwhelming evidence on (two) phones, including evidence that he is moving significant quantities of controlled drugs,” prosecutors said.

“Whilst they seized $75,000 from their house, they also say that there will be a photo of him counting about $200,000 cash the day before the seizure.

“He has got photographs of the drugs from the shipping container that is essentially very similar to police exhibit photos.”

The couple were arrested after detectives searched a property in Angle Vale and one in MacDonald Park on November 6, 2023, where they located more than 2kg of meth, 338g of ecstasy and a large quantity of cocaine.

They also found a handgun, ammunition and body armour, police alleged.

Ms Cammarano and Ms Greenwood, both from MacDonald Park, were arrested.

The couple are yet to enter a plea to five counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug and one count each of trafficking in a controlled drug, aggravated possessing a firearm without a licence, possessing ammunition without a licence, possessing body armour without approval and money laundering.

The court heard the Angle Vale property was a storage yard for two shipping containers, that Mr Cammarano allegedly signed rental agreements for and Ms Greenwood made payments for.

Prosecutors said two keys were located inside the McDonalds Park home – one to the shipping container’s padlock and one to a stolen Mercedes Benz car allegedly found inside.

The court heard since her release on home detention bail, the address Ms Greenwood was staying at had been searched twice after SAPOL received intelligence a firearm was inside the home.

No charges have been laid in relation to this intelligence and a firearm has not been recovered, the court heard.

Magistrate Simon Smart granted the adjournment, but said no further adjournments would be granted to delay the case.

Mr Smart refused Mr Cammarano’s release on bail, and said submissions in relation to Ms Greenwood could be made when a formal application was filed with the court.

The couple will return to court in May.
