14-year-old boy arrested with alleged knife after foot chase through shopping centre

A teenager has been arrested after allegedly wielding a knife, prompting a foot chase by police through a shopping centre in the northern suburbs.

A 14-year-old teenager has been arrested at a northern suburbs shopping centre, after he was allegedly seen concealing a knife before being chased by police through the complex.

At about 12 noon, police were called to the Elizabeth Shopping Centre after the teen was allegedly seen concealing a weapon in his clothing while walking through the car park.

Police said patrols attended and located him within the shopping complex, and have alleged the youth attempted to run upon seeing police.

He was arrested after an alleged short foot chase, and the knife was recovered and seized.

The teen from Davoren Park was arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon and resisting police.

His bail is yet to be determined.
