Warwick to host round 16 of the Queensland Cup as the Western Clydesdales play Burleigh Bears

The highest level of Queensland footy is heading to the Rose City for a blockbuster match, and it’s set to be a juicy affair with local lads facing off on both sides of the pitch.

Warwick’s own fortress at Father Range will host the Q Cup in the coming weeks, bringing the state’s highest level of football to the Rose City.

The Cowboys home ground will host a round 16 blockbuster featuring the Western Clydesdales from Toowoomba and the Burleigh Bears at the end of the month.

It’ll see the 14th place Clydesdales try to turn their season around against fourth place Burleigh, in an exciting match up with incredible atmosphere.

The action will kick off on June 29.

The Toowoomba-based team has struggled since joining the Q Cup, finishing 13th in the 2023 season.

Hopefully they can turn it around with footy mad Warwick sure to bring the atmosphere for the Toowoomba side.

Locals can be keen to watch local lad Nick Carrie and Col Speed signing Tui Oloapu light up the field on game day.

On the other side Warwick boy Mitch Watson who joined top of the table Bears last year.

It’s the second example of the great game reaching the Rose City, after earlier this year the NRL’s Road to Regions program visited the region.

The program targets regional and remote areas of Australia with the specific objective to support and empower rugby league communities, to ensure their success and to grow the game

Kick off is expected to be 6pm, per QCup’s website.
