Boy, 6, dies after collapsing at Urangan Central Shopping Centre
A young boy who collapsed in “horrible” scenes at a Qld shopping centre has tragically died despite desperate attempts to save him.
A young boy’s sudden collapse at a busy Queensland shopping centre has ended in tragedy, with the six-year-old dying despite desperate medical efforts.
Police confirmed on Saturday the primary-school aged boy was rushed to Hervey Bay Hospital but was unable to be revived.
Initial reports indicated emergency services were called to Boat Harbour Drive about 2.30pm on Friday, November 28, after the boy collapsed in front of shocked shoppers at Urangan Central.
Paramedics performed CPR on the child before he was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition but sadly could not be saved.
A bystander, who didn’t want to be named, told this publication: “It was horrible. I walked up to see if they needed help. I wasn’t prepared to see a little boy”.
Police have since said a report would be prepared for the coroner.
Investigations were ongoing and no further information was available.
