Pheobe Bishop latest: Alleged murder location, phone app, new housemate details

New details about the flatmates accused of killing teenager Pheobe Bishop and what police allege they did after her death can be revealed as a family member shares the latest on the body found in bushland.

New details about the flatmates accused of killing teenager Pheobe Bishop have come to light with exclusive court documents revealing what police allege happened after she died.

Tanika Bromley, 33, and James Wood, 34, were both charged with murder and two counts of interfering with a corpse after the Gin Gin teen disappeared on May 15.

New information, viewed on Wednesday, suggests the 17-year-old was murdered on Airport Drive in Kensington where she was last seen carrying luggage but never boarded her flight.

The documents shed further light on previous police claims that Pheobe’s body was moved twice after her death.

They state the housemates were alleged to have interfered with a corpse on May 15 in Bundaberg or elsewhere in the state of Queensland.

They further allege two days later Pheobe’s body was moved to Good Night Scrub National Park where remains believed to be hers were later found after three weeks of desperate searching.
The documents also state Bromley was born in Batemans Bay, New South Wales.

The findings come after a family member told this publication on Wednesday that while detectives were yet to officially confirm the DNA results they were investigating a match between hair colour and clothing to Pheobe.

Pheobe was meant to fly to meet her boyfriend in Western Australia on the day she went missing.

It is understood she was reported missing when she failed to arrive later that day.

The dilapidated home in Milden St, Gin Gin, where the three were living is still listed as Bromley’s address.

Wood’s address however is listed as being on the Gregory Highway in Emerald.

He was born in Southport, according to the documents.

Bromley’s occupation is listed as assistant manager and his is listed as student.

Wood is in custody at Maryborough Correctional Centre while Bromley is a Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre.

Neither has entered pleas and the matters have been adjourned until August.

The family member said detectives had told them they suspect the remains could belong to Pheobe and while results were yet to confirm they “just knew” it was her.

Ahead of vigils held on the weekend, Bundaberg’s mayor Helen Blackburn revealed Pheobe’s mum Kylie Johnson wanted all parents to download the Life360 app - a phone-tracking service that shows the location of shared devices and indicates whether a phone is switched off or has run out of battery.

It’s understood that according to Kylie’s app, Phoebe’s phone last pinged near Airport Drive and was fully charged before it was manually switched off.

The home where Phoebe lived was found in a shocking state of disrepair and squalor, with significant property damage, animal waste, and several dead dogs discovered on the premises.

Landlords have estimated clean-up and repairs to cost between $10,000 and $15,000.

Both Bromley and Wood are due to appear in court on August 11 as the investigation continues.
