Paramedics treat truck driver for significant leg injury

Queensland fireys freed an injured truck driver after he rolled his vehicle on a regional highway southwest of Rockhampton.

Queensland firefighters have cut free an injured driver from a truck wreck following a single vehicle rollover south west of Rockhampton.

Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said they responded to the accident reported on the Leichhardt Highway near Dululu about 1.45pm.

He said a man in his 60s was initially trapped in the wreckage but it appeared that Queensland Fire Department crews had cut him free.

Ambulance paramedics were still on scene at 3.20pm treating the patient for a significant leg injury.

He was in a stable condition and being transported to Rockhampton Hospital by the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service at 3.45pm.

The highway was closed for some time but the Qld Traffic conditions website at 4.40pm lists the highway open to all traffic.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the truck was carrying skip bins, and left the road before rolling.

Reports from the scene indicated there was damage to the road surface.
