Chocolate mud cake, pavlova, rainbow sponge, black forest torte, wild strawberry cheesecake and myriad other drool-worthy concoctions are coming to a new store in Mackay.
The Cheesecake Shop has revealed a store will be opening at the Northern Beaches Central Shopping Centre in Rural View.
The Daily Mercury contacted the franchise to find out when you could get your hands on its sweet treats but you will have to wait a little while longer before we can dish on those details.
But we can say the Rural View store will be unfamiliar to those who have long frequented the Mackay shop at The Gasworks in Shakespeare St with its dark green exterior paint.
That is because The Cheesecake Shop chief executive Scott Bush announced late last year that the iconic brand of 32 years was getting a makeover complete with a new logo, store design and tagline as part of a multimillion dollar rejuvenation strategy.
“We want people to think about us in that dessert space on every and any occasion like Monday night on the couch, as opposed to a celebratory cake shop,” Mr Bush said.
Sydney’s Guildford store was the first to try on the new look with customers able to watch as desserts are made and decorated, or choose to click-and-collect at the counter instead.
All new stores will adopt the modern fit-out while existing stores like The Gasworks will be gradually updated.
