A woman and her two brothers have been charged over the alleged brutal bashing of a bouncer at a Gold Coast pub during a heaving weekend on the Glitter Strip.

A woman and her two brothers have been arrested over the alleged brutal bashing of a bouncer at a Gold Coast pub during a heaving weekend on the Glitter Strip.

Coast police superintendent Craig Hanlon said the drama erupted after the woman was ejected from the Envy Hotel in Broadbeach for intoxication in the early hours of Saturday morning.

“Her two brothers decided to intervene and (allegedly) subsequently assault the security officer,” Mr Hanlon told ABC Gold Coast.

“He was knocked unconscious and then kicked while he was on the ground, and then a number of other security staff and patrons got involved in a fight.

“This is disturbing behaviour.”

Mr Hanlon said the bouncer was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with head injuries “but he’s going to be fine”.

He said the three siblings, aged 19, 22 and 28, had been arrested and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

All three have also been issued notices banning them from the Broadbeach Safe Night Precinct.

They are expected to face Southport Magistrates Court next month.

Supt Hanlon said it was one of the few significant incidents on the Coast over the weekend which was packed for the GC500 Supercars race and the Groundwater country music festival.

He said crowds were “exceptionally well-behaved”, with only a few other arrests for public nuisance, drug possession and return-to-prison warrants.
