A woman has been arrested and charged over a fiery crash involving an allegedly stolen luxury car and a B-double that shut down the Logan Mwy and forced homes to be evacuated.

Police have charged a 33-year-old female from West Gladstone with unlawful use of motor vehicles aircraft or vessels, robbery and assault with intent to steal over the crash that took place on the Logan Mwy at Loganlea just after 8pm on Tuesday, October 22.

It is alleged that the woman was in a stolen Audi when it ploughed into a B-double truck sparking a massive inferno, destroying a truck carrying pesticides and lithium-ion batteries and causing hazardous smoke to billow into the air.

It was also carrying other non-hazardous material which fuelled the massive blaze.

The incident happened on the Logan Motorway near the Kingston exit eastbound at Loganlea, with eight fire crews called to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

Queensland police believe the Audi was stolen less than half an hour before crashing into the truck, following a separate traffic crash between it and another car on Inala Ave in Durack.

Police allege the Audi had been involved in a collision with a stolen Mazda 3.

The Mazda was involved in a crash with a Ford Fiesta on Grange Rd at Eastern Heights.

He said two people in the Audi had fled the scene after the crash.

The West Gladstone woman has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on November 22.
