Four children have been seriously injured after a car crashed into a pole in Auchenflower in Brisbane.

The children were taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital after the single vehicle incident on Vincent St about 1.17pm.

Two of the children were initially assessed as having life-threatening injuries, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said.

One child had abdominal injuries, another head injuries. They both had injuries from their seatbelts.

A QCH spokeswoman said they are now in a stable condition.

A police spokesperson said when emergency services arrived, it appeared the young children were trapped in the car and power lines were down.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said two crews attended the crash and everyone was removed from the vehicle.

The spokesperson said the road was blocked by fallen powerlines which were later cleared by Energex.

A man on the scene declined assessment by paramedics.
