St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace names Damien Fall as new principal from 2026

A long-serving member of the leadership team at a prestigious all boys’ school in Brisbane has been named as its new principal.

A long-serving member of the St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace, leadership team has been appointed principal of the prestigious all boys’ school.

Damien Fall, previously deputy principal and dean of students at the Catholic college in Spring Hill, will take on the top job from 2026.

Mr Fall’s appointment comes as current principal Michael Carroll retires at the end of the year.

Dr Carroll served as principal for 11 years – one year longer than the maximum tenure for Edmund Rice schools so he could participate in Terrace’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

Announcing Mr Fall’s appointment, EREA (Edmund Rice) Colleges Ltd said: “Damien is a highly regarded member of the Terrace community and an accomplished educational leader, with leadership experience gained in four Catholic schools, including three EREA schools, across almost 30 years of service.

“Damien has significant experience leading young men, families and staff in the tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice and this provides him with the breadth of experience and skills necessary to humbly but confidently serve the college community as its leader from 2026.”

Mr Fall, who began his career as a science and maths teacher, holds a master of educational leadership, a bachelor of applied science and graduate diploma in education.

EREA Colleges said Mr Fall, a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course, was “highly valued by staff, students and families” for his pastoral leadership.
