A 58-year-old staff member from the Queensland Police Service’s Protective Services Group has been charged over an alleged assault.
The staff member has been charged with the offence of common assault, allegedly committed while on duty.
The member has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 13.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” police said in a statement.
“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
