The Powderfinger singer, who has been somewhat reclusive over the past few years, was spotted on the cricket pitch in Lismore on Saturday alongside a host of other celebrity players for the Legends of Cricket T20 charity event, which raises money for the town still in recovery from the horror 2022 floods.

Fanning was joined by the likes of cricket legend and Lismore boy Adam Gilchrist and Grinspoon guitarist Pat Davern.

It won’t be the last we’ll see of Fanning. He’s set to head back on tour as part of his new collaboration with Paul Dempsey.

The musicians, who collectively call themselves Fanning Dempsey National Park, will join the SummerSalt 2025 Festival tour next month.

Missy Higgins, John Butler, The Waifs and The Whitlams are also playing the festival.
