A man has been charged after allegedly breaking into two homes and stealing a car in Brisbane’s west in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police alleged that two men broke into a home in Kingfisher Place, Chapel Hill at approximately 5:30am before running into the 53-year-old owner.

One of the men, allegedly armed with a knife and wearing a balaclava, demanded for the owner’s keys for the Porsche parked outside.

The pair failed to steal anything and fled in a white sedan, with the owner left unharmed.

Just before 6am, the two men allegedly broke into a second property in Thiesfield St, Fig Tree Pocket where they stole a white Kia Cerato.

Police later arrested a 27-year-old Raceview man at a Bundamba address where the Kia was found.

He was charged with two counts of enter dwelling with intent, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of attempted robbery and unlawful use of motor vehicle.

The second man is still at large with investigations ongoing.
