Police appeal for information to locate man wanted for tool theft

Police are calling for help to identify a man who made repeated trips to Bunnings and would appear to steal expensive items with a sneaky strategy.

Police have appealed for the public’s help in identifying two people involved in a spate of thefts from the Bunnings hardware store in the lead up to Christmas.

On six occasions between December 11 and December 24, 2024, it is alleged a man stole a range of tools from the Plainland business on the Warrego Highway.

Police allege the man concealed a socket set inside a larger boxed item before proceeding to the checkout and only paying for the boxed item, on December 11,

During the second incident on December 18, police allege the man concealed a soldering set inside his clothing before leaving the store without paying.

Police have released CCTV footage as part of an appeal to help identify two people involved in a spate of thefts from a hardware store in the Lockyer Valley in the lead up to Christmas last year.

They further allege the man returned to the store on December 20, 21, 22 and 24 and on each occasion concealed tools inside a larger boxed item before proceeding to the checkout and only paying for the boxed item.

The man is described as caucasian, aged in his 30s, with a proportionate build, brown hair and beard and a large distinctive tattoo on his right leg.

It is believed he is driving a white utility vehicle.

Police are also appealing for additional information to help identify a woman who was seen accompanying the man on two separate occasions on December 22 and December 24.

The woman is described as caucasian, aged in her 30s with a larger build and blonde hair.
