Magic Round is officially sold out with the last tickets to the NRL’s feast of football snapped up on Wednesday afternoon as the event marches towards a record crowd.

More than 150,000 seats have been sold for Magic Round itself, while Thursday night’s women’s State of Origin season opener is also tracking for a record attendance of more than 25,000.

Game one of last year’s women’s series was expected to set a huge record crowd but was marred by wet weather.

There is no such risk this time around, with clear skies forecast for a game where the record attendance of 25,782 set in Newcastle for last year’s Game Two is now under threat.
