Two crews are still on their way to battle the blaze.

Residents are being warned to close their windows and doors and keep respiratory medication close if required.

Police are on scene directing traffic and motorists are being told to drive with caution and to conditions.

Paramedics have assessed four people and are still on scene waiting for further updates.

Is the second fire that occurred in the area in just a week. Last Sunday, a warehouse on one of its connecting streets, Curtin Avenue East, was destroyed in flames that produced huge black smoke.

Queensland Ambulance Service Operations Supervisor Scott Gardiner said two workers had been assessed.

“We’ve arrived and assessed two workers in the factory, both in a stable condition and not requiring any further treatment or transport and we will continue to support fire officers on scene,” he said.

“We’ve been providing medical capacity in case of any injuries, but also in particular to support fire officers as they come out of the factory fire to make sure their safety and wellbeing is fine

“It’s a particularly hot day and we’re certainly making sure the fire officers safety is paramount. Especially in relation to any ongoing heat effects. “

He said they did routine assessments of the staff and made sure they were hydrated and in air conditioning.
