A Sunshine Coast church has revealed an eight-figure revenue for the last financial year as they prepare to open their newest mega-sized venue.

The Life Church Queensland Ltd, which is a Pentecostal organisation affiliated with the Australia Christian Churches, reported its income for the 2024 financial year earlier this month, revealing the non-profit had pulled in $11.7m in revenue.

The church currently operates a number of services across the week from Warana.

According to the financial documents published to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, Life Church’s largest sum of revenue came from “building”, which totalled $10.1m.

The church also listed $345,512 from missions and about $1.05m in tithes and offerings.

Total expenditure for the company was listed as $1.7m, bringing the net surplus of the church to $9.97m, according to the ACNC documents.

Historical financial documents show the latest profit is a large increase on the previous year, which provided a profit of $1.04m from a revenue of $2.5m in the financial year that ended in June 2023.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents show the church is operated by seven directors: Ashley Goode, Michael Falkstrom, Joseph Felice, Ricky Emmerson, Malcolm Butler, Scott Dunbar and Kylie Martin.

The church is building a new worship space at Tanawha, The Sanctuary, after snapping up two prime sites in 2019.

According to property data, the 2.33ha block at 59 Tanawha Tourist Drive was sold for $1.2m, while the 3.23ha block at 75 Tanawha Tourist Drive sold for $2.03m.

The new mega-sized church will hold nearly 800 people, according to the original plans, along with nearly 300 car spaces.

The church posted to social media earlier this month stating the new venue was expected to open in mid-2025.

Mr Emmerson said the church had grown significantly over the past 10 years.

“Over the past decade, we have experienced significant growth, with our three services on Sunday and Friday youth services continually expanding our church community,” Mr Emmerson said.

“As a result, we have outgrown our Kawana campus, leading to the development of The Sanctuary at Forest Glen.

“This project has been made possible by the giving of our local congregation, the generous donations of supporters who believe in the cause of the church, the valuation of our Kawana facility, and bank financing.”
