Kallangur man charged with eight counts of rape against two women

A South East Queensland man has been charged with eight counts of rape, allegedly committed against two women over a 10-year period, with police believing there could be other victims.

A 31-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault offences over the course of 10 years against two women with investigators believing there could be other victims.

Detectives from the Serious Crime Investigation Team attached to Moreton Domestic Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Unit arrested the 31-year-old Kallangur man on April 23 in relation to a historical sexual assault investigation in the Moreton area.

Police allege the offences were committed across a 10-year period, against two women known to the man over the course of their relationships.

He was charged with eight counts of rape (domestic violence) and one count of contravention of a DV order.

Investigators believe there could be other victims in the Moreton and Brisbane areas, and are asking for anyone with further information to contact police.

The man was granted bail on Wednesday afternoon under strict no contact conditions with the women.

He will be fitted with an electronic monitoring device before his release.

The matter was adjourned for mention at Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 20.
