Emergency services called after fall on Mt Beerwah

Emergency crews have rushed to a popular Sunshine Coast mountain after reports a climber has fallen and become trapped.

Emergency crews have been called to rescue a climber on a mountain in the Sunshine Coast region after they became trapped following a fall.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said four crews were called to Mt Beerwah following a report about 2pm that a climber fell a minor distance but became stuck in the area where they landed.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were also heading to the scene after it was reported the climber sustained minor injuries.

Paramedics were still on scene as of 4pm to treat the climber for a non-life threatening ankle injury.
