Protesters have been thrown out of Brisbane City Council Chambers by police for a second week running, with bizarre claims shouted at the Lord Mayor during debate on the 2032 review. LIVE BLOG

Council’s weekly meeting got off to a heated start after Question Time was moved, for the first time in at least a decade, so Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner could attend the Games 100-day review launch.

But Greens councillor Seal Chong Wah was also absent, choosing instead to attend a Victoria Park stadium protest.

Independent Councillor Nicole Johnston accused Mr Schrinner of being “off at lunch giving away Brisbane’s green space’’.

Deputy Mayor Fiona Cunningham said the criticism from Labor, Ms Johnston and the Greens was “quite insane’’.

“This is an incredibly important day for our city,’’ she said.

She said the motion to move Question Time back until later in the afternoon allowed the Lord Mayor to be “transparent’’ and address the Chamber on the Games review.
