Cairns real estate: Redlynch is red hot for homes

Home buyers seeking room to roam are focusing on one Cairns suburb, with a number of properties changing hands for more than $1m this year. Here is the list of sale-toppers in this desirable neighbourhood.

Sales are surging in Redlynch as families look to upsize and secure some space in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Here is the list of top-dollar sales in the Cairns suburb over the past financial year.

$2,160,000 – 17-19 Copeman Close

Boasting beautiful mountain views from a commanding position, this four bedroom home on 1ha sold in January. It featured professionally manicured gardens and lawns, backs on to a reserve, extra large rooms throughout with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors in many, stunning bathrooms and a very inviting patio. Expert updates mean it exudes modernity, belying its construction date of 1995. It was sold by Therese Plath of Ray White Cairns South.

$2,000,000 – 17-19 Tognolini Close

Sold by Explore Property’s Tarren Olufson in May, the sprawling five bedroom, three bathroom home is set at the foot of a mountain on 1.64ha of landscaped garden – like its own private parkland at the end of a cul-de-sac featuring similar sized properties. Sold by Debbie North of Cairns Property Office in April, this home on. 94ha has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, styled as tropical lodge ensuites. It has a home office separate to the house and a dramatic living space leading to an outdoor cabana area.

$1,200,000 – 17-19 Robb Rd

Set on an .83ha block, this property had changed hands only once previously, in 2003, before it was sold last July by Debbie North Cairns Property Office. It boasts a 15m x 9m shed, a

large resort style pool with a rockery, a huge deck with built in bar, and two living areas.

$1,160,000 – 14-16 Lichen Close

Another property seemingly set within its own private park, this home built in 2010 is set on .91ha and has breathtaking mountain views from the pool. $1,120,000 – 25-27 Crystal Close

Five bedrooms and three bathrooms on .82ha at prestigious Riverview Estate, this home changed hands for only the second time in March this year, with Debbie North again responsible for the sale. There are no rear neighbours, great views, a lovely wet edge pool and even a barramundi dam.

$1,100,000 – 69 Daphne Dr

Offering views all the way to Green Island, this two level property with a contemporary layout has a heated pool, two big balconies, polished timber floors, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It was sold by Belle Property in May.
