Pride of Australia care and compassion winner Meika Tabart is talented, dignified and graceful

PEOPLE who know Meika Tabart say she can do almost anything with dignity and grace.

The active community worker began her role with people seeking asylum at the Pontville Detention Centre as a violin teacher.

When the centre closed, she established a weekly meeting for locals and people seeking asylum to form friendships and support each other.

Dr Tabart was presented with the Care and Compassion medal at the Pride of Australia 2014 Tasmanian awards.
