Tasmanian Electoral Commissioner Andrew Hawkey today said the recount was expected to be conducted later in the month after all Braddon candidates from last year’s state election were asked whether they wished to be considered.
“A public notice will appear in the Advocate newspaper on Friday 15 February 2019, inviting all Braddon candidates, who were not elected at the 2018 House of Assembly election, to nominate to contest the recount,” Mr Hawkey said in a statement.

“The Tasmanian Electoral Commission will also write to those candidates inviting them to nominate for the recount.
“Nominations must be received by 12 noon on Monday 25 February 2019. The recount will commence shortly after this time.”
