SERIAL campaigner Steve Mav has declared he is back — this time seeking to become a Senate candidate with Pauline Hanson’s One Nation party.
Mr Mav announced to his Facebook followers on Friday that he had become a member of the party and had a video conference with Senator Hanson.
Mr Mav said he had submitted nomination papers to become the party’s Senate candidate for Tasmania at the next federal election.
“I want to fight for our state and country and serve under the leadership of Senator Pauline Hanson — an Aussie patriot — who I share many similar values and beliefs,’’ he wrote.
“My nomination will now be considered by One Nation.”
Mr Mav, who is known for his roadside campaigning, ran unsuccessfully in the recent Brighton Council elections and has also previously run for federal politics.
After failing to win a place on council, he announced he would discontinue his own party — the Steve Mav Team — saying he had “no reasonable prospects of success” amid legislation changes.
