THE State Government has given itself a pat on the back for its performance, releasing a report on its progress in the fourth quarter of the first year of its second term.
Highlights include the Affordable Housing Action Plan, the new St Helens District Hospital, the Abalone Industry Investment Fund, the Third Red Tape Audit Report and the new Weed Action Fund.
Notable misses include finalising the fit-out of the Royal Hobart Hospital’s K-Block, which has been “reprioritised” and the creation of a “traffic incident response team” to deal with road crashes in Hobart.
And the deployment of “better bus services” for New Norfolk was tweaked after public outcry.
Premier Will Hodgman said the Government was continuing to deliver on its election promises.
“There is always a lot more to do and we are prepared to be held to account on our progress.
“The Government’s work plan is firmly focused on growing the economy, to create more job opportunities, investing more into health, education and essential services, keeping the cost of living down, building the infrastructure our growing State needs, and protecting the Tasmanian way of life.”
