Police officer cut free after patrol car crashes into western Sydney home
A police officer has been freed after being trapped for 90 minutes when her patrol car crashed into a Sydney house during an emergency response.
A police patrol car has crashed into a house in a western Sydney suburb, trapping officers inside the vehicle.
The NSW Police SUV crashed through the fence of a home in Bungarribee Road at Blacktown about 3pm on Tuesday.
The vehicle was responding to an urgent incident, under lights and sirens, when it collided with a Mitsubishi SUV, NSW Police said in a statement.
Rescuers took an hour and a half to free the 25-year-old female probationary constable who was trapped in the vehicle, while the driver, a male constable, received minor injuries.
NSW Police said she was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with minor injuries.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said specialist rescue trucks were sent to the scene, removing the roof from the vehicle to free the constable.
Image from the site show the badly damaged vehicle up against the house.
A 30-year-old man driving the other car was on Tuesday assisting police.
