Police are investigating after a fire tore through a Gold Coast home on Monday night.

Emergency services were called to the Gunther Ave, Coomera address at about 8.45pm.

The garage of the property was well-involved when fire crews arrived on scene and the fire had already spread to about 30 per cent of the house, a Queensland Fire Department spokesman said.

The fire was under control by 10pm.

Police have established a crime scene as they work to investigate the cause of the blaze, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said.

One occupant escaped the burning house unscathed.
