Welcome to our live coverage of the first sitting week for 2025 of the Northern Territory’s 15th Legislative Assembly, kicking off what’s promised to be a year of “action, certainty and security”.

Top of the agenda this week is economic reform, including the Territory Coordinator Bill, payroll tax cuts, and axing third party merit reviews blamed for allowing “lawfare” to delay major projects.

A lobby register will be introduced, minimum alcohol floor price will be scrapped, and the government will move to further expand police powers.

Don’t stray far, here’s your daily slice of action inside the Wedding Cake.
