She may be a billionaire with more than 100 published books under her belt, but even Martha Stewart has to wait for a table at cult Sydney restaurant Totti’s.

On Wednesday night, during a talk for Vivid Sydney, the 83-year-old commented on the Merivale restaurant’s iconic bread, after jumping off a plane at Sydney airport and heading straight to the restaurant for lunch.

She quipped however, that her table wasn’t ready when she arrived, and had to wait outside while staff prepared for her arrival.

Talking about her lengthy career during a conversation with Benjamin Law at Sydney’s ICC, Stewart was asked about how she finds balance between work and personal life, and whether she had suffered burnout.

“I don’t call it burn-out, I call it burning up,” she replied.

Her advice for millennials suffering in the corporate world, was much harsher, however.

“Poor poor millennials,” she joked. “I have no sympathy.”

With 101 cooking, gardening and entertaining books to her name, the “original influencer” was asked her thoughts on the plagiarism drama between Nagi Maehashi of Recipe Tin Eats and Brooke Bellamy.

Stewart was given a brief run down on the scandal, in which Maehashi accused Bellamy of plagiarising her recipes in her cookbook.

“In (my) magazine we develop thousands of recipes every year and it’s hard to develop a recipe without having a repertoire behind that recipe and I don’t think too many recipes are owned by anybody,” she said.

“They are handed down.”

She also touched on two of the most-talked about people in America: Donald Trump and Meghan Markle.

Asked what she thought of the Duchess’ new lifestyle series - she replied with: “one does not talk about a Duchess”.

She also revealed she had a bumper sticker on her car that said “Martha for president” but said her age was the one thing stopping her from campaigning.

And of course, she took every opportunity to endorse her products to the audience during the one hour show, revealing she was launching a skincare brand, a gin brand with her friend Snoop Dogg, as well as writing her autobiography.

“It’s a lot of fun,” she said.

The show finished with her asking Law the time, announcing she never stopped working and had a call at 7am on Thursday morning.
