Named: Three alleged KVT network associates charged in major Sydney drug-supply bust
Three men linked to Sydney's KVT crime network will face court on Wednesday after detectives uncovered an alleged $16.5m drug supply operation.
Three alleged associates of the KVT criminal network have been charged by Taskforce Falcon detectives with major drug-supply offences following co-ordinated police operations across Sydney’s southwest and lower Blue Mountains.
Strike Force Duncan, initially set up to investigate organised criminal networks involved in obtaining “kill cars” and drug supply, was moved under Taskforce Falcon earlier this year as part of the state’s crackdown on violent and organised crime.
In September, detectives began focusing on the alleged drug-supply activities of three men linked to the KVT network.
Following extensive inquiries, police executed a series of arrests and search warrants early Tuesday.
About 5.30am, officers raided a home in Edmondson Park, arresting 28-year-old Emparama Navale.
He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with directing the activities of a criminal group, ongoing drug supply, multiple counts of supplying prohibited drugs across indictable, commercial and large-commercial quantities, dealing with the proceeds of crime and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order.
Navale’s lawyer did not apply for bail in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.
Just before 5am the same morning, Raptor Squad officers stopped a vehicle on the Great Western Highway at Glenbrook.
The driver, 28-year-old William Ravoka, was arrested and later charged at Springwood Police Station with ongoing drug supply, participating in a criminal group, multiple drug-supply offences, dealing with the proceeds of crime, handling explosives or precursors without a licence and possessing a restricted substance.
Ravoka made no application for bail, therefore it was refused.
A third arrest occurred about 6.30am in Peakhurst, where detectives took 24-year-old George Sukanaivalu into custody.
He was charged at Kogarah Police Station with supplying large-commercial quantities of prohibited drugs, dealing with crime proceeds between $5,000 and $100,000, participating in a criminal group, possessing a prohibited drug, and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order.
Sukanavailu did not apply for bail in Sutherland Local Court Wednesday.
Subsequent search warrants resulted in the seizure of approximately 40kg of illicit drugs, with an estimated street value of $12.5m.
Police allege the three men were involved in supplying around 55kg of drugs worth an estimated $16.5m.
The three men are yet to enter pleas.
