It has been a big week for Edmonson Park chemist Natalie Isaac, who has vaccinated more than 100 people to keep up her suburb’s high jab rate.

Edmonson Park pharmacist Natalie Isaac was still jabbing away at 9pm on Tuesday, helping the southwest Sydney suburb to lead the state on vaccination rates.
Edmondson Park and nearby Ingleburn are the only areas of NSW where more than 60 per cent of the eligible population are fully vaccinated, new official data shows.
Ms Isaac, who co-owns Edmondson Park Chemistworks, has vaccinated more than 100 people since she started offering AstraZeneca last week.
She said it was “awesome” Edmondson Park was out in front, which she put down to high levels of health literacy in the area.
“I’ve been so happy and excited to see the demand,” Ms Isaac said, adding the response from younger people was particularly positive.
Ms Isaac said she decided to start offering vaccination because “it’s so critical … to help protect the community”.
While the new data on vaccination rates is more granular, it still groups Ingleburn and Edmondson Park together.
Ingleburn Village Medical Centre practice manager Bianca Papanikolaou said it had given 3475 AstraZeneca jabs and 1550 Pfizer vaccines since March.
Ms Papanikolaou said the centre had been able to deliver so many doses because “we’ve made it easy”.
Booking was simpler than at government vaccination hubs and patients were spending no more than half an hour in the centre, including 15 minutes of observation, she said.
The centre also offers jabs 12 hours a day on weekdays, plus six hours a day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Ms Papanikolaou said that if Pfizer was in greater supply, the centre could vaccinate even more people – including 400 residents of a nearby aged-care centre.
