Frantic search for person missing in water after boat crash in Swansea Channel

Emergency services and the rescue helicopter have resumed a search for one boatie in Lake Macquarie, after a boat crash threw four people into the water on Saturday evening.

A search will resume this morning for a missing man after a boat overturned at Lake Macquarie on Saturday evening.

About 7.50pm, emergency services were called to Channel St, Swansea, following reports of multiple people in the water after a small boat was involved in an accident.

On arrival emergency services were told four people had been on the boat, three of whom – two men aged 23 and a 20-year-old had been pulled from the water following the crash near Dobinson Drive.

Paramedics treated the three men at the scene, with one 23-year-old taken to hospital due to hypothermia.

The master of the boat, also aged 23, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

One person is understood to be missing in the water at Swansea Channel.

NSW Police spokesman said officers were at multiple locations around the waterway, but the search was called off about 10.30pm, due to poor light.
