Two men have been hit with multiple charges after a police raid on a Grafton property allegedly uncovered more than 70 cannabis plants, a firearm and a suspected stolen vehicle.
Police investigating an alleged drug supply operation in the Northern Rivers near Grafton raided a property in Pilar Valley on Wednesday morning.
They allegedly uncovered and seized 75 cannabis plants, 339g cannabis leaf, a firearm, a mobile phone, an SUV believed to have been stolen, and 223g of a white crystal substance which will undergo further examination.
Officers from the Coffs Harbour Region Enforcement Squad, North Coast Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team spoke to two men at the property near Grafton, aged 28 and 55.
The 28-year old man was charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm, and not keeping a firearm safely (not pistol/prohibited firearm).
He will appear in Grafton Local Court on Monday September 15.
The older man, Michael Spicer, was charged at Grafton Police Station with cultivating a prohibited plant, greater than or equal to commercial quantity – cannabis, cultivating a prohibited plant, greater than small and less than indictable quantity, supplying a prohibited drug, greater than small and less than indictable quantity, having goods suspected of being stolen in/on premises (motor vehicle), and possessing a prohibited drug.
He appeared in Bail Division Court 1 on Thursday afternoon and was released on bail, including conditions that he must report to police twice per week.
He will appear in court again on October 7.
