One lucky Australian has claimed the entire $100 million Powerball jackpot — but they might not even know it yet.
The life-changing winning ticket was the only division one winner in Powerball draw 1517 on Thursday and was purchased somewhere in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Because the entry wasn’t registered with The Lott Members Club, lottery officials have no way of contacting the winner directly.
It’s sparked a frantic callout for locals and recent visitors to double-check any tickets, with the winner now officially the country’s third-biggest lottery victor in history.
“Someone has become an overnight midweek multi-millionaire but possibly doesn’t know it yet,” said The Lott spokesman Matt Hart.
“There are 100 million reasons why Sydney players should check their tickets as soon as possible.”
The winning numbers were 28, 10, 3, 16, 31, 14 and 21, with the Powerball number 6.
Across the rest of the country, more than three million prizes were won across divisions two to nine, including six players who each took home over $280,000.
The Lott is urging the mystery winner to hold onto their ticket and call 131 868 to begin the prize claim process — and reminded all players to register their entries to avoid future missed fortunes.
In 2025 alone, The Lott has crowned 194 division one winners — with 55 of them coming from NSW.
