Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a car, with the driver leaving the scene, in Sydney’s southwest.

A man is fighting for life after a hit and run in Sydney’s southwest.

Officers were called to Station St in Fairfield Heights shortly before 8pm on Wednesday following reports of a crash.

A pedestrian, whose age is currently unknown, was struck by a car.

The driver fled the scene before police arrived.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition.

Police are searching for a grey or silver sedan, believed to have front-end damage.

A crime scene has been established, and the Crash Investigation Unit is leading the inquiry.
