Two out of three Sydney light rail lines will be closed for the entire weekend due to planned trackwork and maintenance works.

Services on the L2 Randwick line and L3 Kingsford line will not run from Saturday morning until 2am on Sunday.

The L1 Dulwich Hill line will not be affected by the trackwork and services will continue to run as per the normal schedule.

NSW Transport confirmed alternative transport options will be available to weekend commuters during this time.

Replacement bus services will run every 10 to 15 minutes from 5am to 1am daily depending on road traffic between Central Chalmers St to Randwick and Juniors Kingsford.

“Most replacement buses will be accessible, if not, wait for the next service,” the NSW Transport travel alert read.

“Opal readers are located on-board all replacement buses and you must tap on and tap off. A standard light rail fare applies.”

Replacement buses will not stop at Surry Hills, Wansey Rd or UNSW High Street.

L2 and L3 light rail services will resume as normal from 5am Monday.
