Harley Sullivan and Christopher Amos refused bail over alleged South Grafton kidnapping

A duo has fronted court after two men and a young boy were allegedly kidnapped in the state’s north. Here’s what we know.

A duo has fronted court after two men and a young boy were allegedly kidnapped in the state’s north.

Harley Thomas Sullivan, 32 and Christopher Amos, 35 are accused of kidnapping the boy, 11, and the two men, 36 and 21-years-old, from Bellevue St in South Grafton at about 5pm on December 7 last year.

Police will allege the boy was released a short time later, but the two men are alleged to have been taken to a Tyndale property and assaulted.

The 36-year-old was treated at Grafton Base Hospital later that day for bruising and a laceration.

Police will allege the three males held against their will are known to the two accused.

Amos was arrested in South Grafton on Friday January 17, and charged with three counts of kidnap in company with intent serious indictable occasion actual bodily harm.

He appeared in Grafton Local Court on Saturday January 18, where he was formally refused bail to appear before the same court on Monday 17 March 2025.

Following further inquiries, Sullivan was arrested at South Grafton about 10am on Monday January 20 and charged with three counts of kidnap in company with intent serious indictable occasion actual bodily harm, two counts of assault police officer in execution of duty, cause actual bodily harm, assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

He was taken into custody and appeared before Grafton Local Court on Monday January 20, where he was formally refused bail.

Sullivan’s next court appearance is March 17.
