An American-style fried chicken joint with a Gen Z cult following has opened its doors to residents in Sydney’s northwest.

Opening its first shop at Parramatta in 2023, Pappa Flock has grown in popularity among Sydney residents with a dedicated fanbase following them across Casula, French Forests, Miranda, Eastgardens and Macquarie Park.

And now its seventh and largest store has opened for Rouse Hill to enjoy.

“As one of Sydney’s fastest growing suburban communities it was a natural next step for us,” chief marketing officer Rachel Korbel said.

“This new location with a capacity to seat 52 customers (28 internal and 24 external), will be an opportunity for us to reach families, foodies and locals looking to satisfy their cravings with crispy crunchy tenders in-store, on the go or delivered to their homes.”

While the grand opening didn’t kick off until noon, that didn’t stop diehard Pappa Flock fans such as Hunter Polkinghorne, 16 and Lucas Albion, 15, from lining up at 5am to be the first ones in.

“We love Pappa Flock, we’re dedicated fans,” Mr Polkinghorne told this masthead.

“I just love the brand in general but the food is really good and I feel like it’s actually worth your money.”

Mr Albion was equally enthusiastic.

“We didn’t know when the line would start so we got here early,” Mr Albion said.

“I think the food’s goated (sic) especially the fried chicken.”

Kellyville state Liberal MP Ray Williams said it was “wonderful to see a new business” pop up in Rouse Hill.

“It’s great for our local economy. Pappa Flock has really touched a nerve with the younger demographic,” he said.

“There are literally just hundreds of young people here, young teenagers waiting to get in here.”

Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne was blown away by the large line of people waiting to sink their teeth into some chicken tenders.

“It’s amazing, it’s incredible and when I arrived just to see so many young people here is awesome,” she said.

“I think every young person in Rouse Hill is right here.”
