A female driver in her 20s has died and police are searching for answers after a single vehicle dawn crash into bushland in the state’s north. Here’s the latest.
A woman in her 20s has died following a dawn single-vehicle crash on a remote coastal road in the state’s north.
Emergency services rushed to Iluka Road at Woombah, about 27km north of Yamba, just after 5.15am on Monday following reports a black Hyundai had veered off the road and crashed into dense bushland.
NSW Ambulance paramedics desperately tried to save the young driver, but the woman tragically died at the scene.
Officers from Coffs-Clarence Police District established a crime scene and launched an investigation into what caused the fatality.
The circumstances surrounding how the car left the road remain unclear, with investigators now appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
