Alfred has made landfall, unleashing destructive winds and torrential rain.

North-east NSW is battling major flooding around the Tweed, Wilson, Richmond, Clarence and the Bellingen rivers, while strong winds batter the coast in the wake of ex-tropical cyclone Alfred.
