A second man has been charged with murder after a daylight shooting in Blacktown in which a Sydney father died.
A second man has been charged with murder after a daylight shooting in Blacktown in which a Sydney father died.
On November 28, police were called to Carinya St, Blacktown in response to reports of a shooting.
A 28-year-old man, Mal Seve, was found with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and leg.
He died at the scene.
He was a father of two.
Police tried to stop a Mazda utility that was seen leaving the area, and when it failed to stop, a pursuit began.
NSW Police said the pursuit was stopped a short time later, when the car crashed on Kildare Rd.
Two men aged 18 and 25 allegedly got out of the vehicle and ran away, however they were arrested a short time later and taken to Blacktown Police Station.
A crime scene was established.
The 25-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while the 18-year-old, Hoani Tewhare, was charged with murder.
Mr Tewhare was also charged with take and drive conveyance without consent and failing to stop during a police pursuit.
In his first court appearance, he did not apply for bail, and appeared via videolink.
He will reappear in court in January.
On Sunday evening, a NSW Police spokesperson said the 25-year-old man had been discharged from hospital and taken to Blacktown Police Station.
He was charged with murder, use etc offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention etc, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and breach of bail.
He was refused bail and will appear before Blacktown Local Court on Monday, December 1.
