40-Year-Old cyclist fighting for his life after colliding with a truck in Surry Hills

A 40-year-old cyclist is in critical condition after the bike he was riding collided with a truck in Surry Hills on Sunday night.

A cyclist is fighting for life after being injured in a collision with a truck in inner Sydney on Sunday evening.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Bourke and Rainford streets in Surry Hills around 6.50pm on June 1, after reports of a crash involving a push bike and a truck.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the push bike rider, a 40-year-old man, at the scene before transporting him to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the truck, a 34-year-old man, was uninjured in the incident.

He was also taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police as part of ongoing investigations.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area at the time to contact Surry Hills Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
