A trio of Territorians have been revealed as part of Hockey Australia’s under-18 National Futures Squads for 2025-26.

Sophie Aranha, Neisha Casimiro and Tobias Jenner have been named in the squads that are a key step in hockey’s high performance pathway.

Meanwhile, Joe Lauritsen and Maya Nunn were also recognised and have put on the Futures Program watch list.

Jenner backs his call up to the Australian Futures squad in 2024.

“However, I wouldn’t be here without my teammates like Joe Lauristen pushing me along and competing with me every step of the way,” he said.

Casimiro said it was an honour to be named in the Futures Squad and an experience she was looking forward to.

“Playing for the Australian U16s in Europe this year was an amazing experience and was a driving force in my preparations for Perth,” she said.

“I’m excited for what’s ahead and eager to keep building and learning alongside such talented athletes and coaches.

“I’m grateful for all the support I receive from my family, coaches, and community.”

Hockey NT technical director Michelle Caden said she was proud so many Territory junior players had been recognised.

“Their selection reflects not only their dedication and perseverance, but also the work invested over the past few years to strengthen our development pathways,” she said.

“Opportunity, support and aspiration remain at the forefront of our focus as we continue to build a program that ensures young Territorians have the same opportunities as the rest of the country.”
